How to Apply / Notes on Applying

• Please be aware of the following points regarding rules for submitting your work.
  • No works that imitate or alter a third-party's work allowed.
  • No works that have appeared in commercial media or that have been shown before allowed.
  • No works allowed to which rights have been transferred to a publisher without leading to publication or works submitted to commercial magazines such as for newcomer awards in the past.
  • Works posted to personal sites, blogs, pixiv, etc. using a personal ID or works featured in personal Dojinshi can be submitted if they satisfy the above requirements.
    *However, when being matched up with editorial boards, it is possible that the boards may have requests regarding the handling of your work (such as that you remove it from sites, etc).
  • Works that have been submitted for manga awards outside those of this contest at the same time will not be considered for selection.
  • Works that infringe on a third party's rights or profit (including parody or imitation) or works that our selection committee has determined to not be appropriate will not be considered for selection. Awards can be taken back for works deemed to not be appropriate for selection even after the award has been presented.
• For those submitting storyboards, please include drawing samples (pen drawings and rough pencil sketches both ok).
• Awards can be taken back for works deemed to not be appropriate for selection even after the award has been presented.
• Questions regarding selection criteria will not be answered.
• Your work will not be returned, so it is ok to submit copies only (please print out digital copies).
• Your personal information will be used by the World MANGA Contest office and Human Academy Co., Ltd. for this contest and for sending materials related to course information and for contact information for the touch-up meeting.
